The following items are included and available at the venue. We provide all the set-up, clean-up, and decorating as well.

The Stable Barn includes a beautiful bar area with full service licenced bar and smart-serve certified Bartending team. Generous bar and cocktail menu.

You also receive our full attention, dedication and commitment to your special day, during the planning process and the event itself. The Farmstead team works the entire duration of your event, keeping the venue and grounds clean and maintained, collaborating with your vendors to ensure everything runs smoothly for your event.
Our experienced and certified wedding co-ordinator will assist at your Rehearsal and Ceremony. This includes cueing the wedding party during the processional, initiating your songs of choice for your ceremony, and providing some tips and suggestions to ensure a flawless ceremony.
During your wedding or event planning, we are just a quick text or email away from any needed advice, recommendations, or assistance of any kind. You can always expect a prompt response. We are very accommodating for any extra site visits and meetings. We will work with you to make your day calm, comfortable, memorable and exactly how you envision it.
Do you provide set-up for our event?
Absolutely! We take care of all the heavy lifting and intricate details. We will have all furniture set-up to your preferred table layout and all decor and table settings set prior to your arrival for the rehearsal on Friday. We offer as many site visits as preferred throughout the planning process, with an extensive finalization planning meeting 4-6 weeks prior to your wedding, where we go over your final desired floor plan, in-house decor choices, timelines, ceremony song choices, and preferences for your wedding day.
What is the venue capacity?
Our Stable Barn is most comfortably suited for up to 100 people, max 120 for a seated dinner.
In November and December, we keep the events to a maximum of 60 guests as we rely more heavily on our indoor spaces.
Does The Farmstead provide a bar service and alcohol?
Yes, and our bar service is where we really shine! (We are really known for this!)
Our professional, experienced, and smart-serve certified bartenders and mixologists are here to serve you and your guests and provide an elevated experience. The Farmstead is a fully licensed Liquor Sales Licence establishment by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). So, whether you're looking for a classic cocktail or local craft beer, we have you covered with a great selection on our Bar Menu. We believe that every drink should be a visual masterpiece, which is why we serve all of our cocktails and beverages in only the finest glassware. (no red-solo cups around here🙈)
We also offer you and your guests a complimentary hydration station at cocktail hour featuring flavoured fruit water made from on-farm grown ingredients, punch, as well as our bar service open for alcoholic beverage purchases.
Can I offer my guests an open bar at my wedding?
Absolutely! And it is one of the best ways to elevate the guest experience, if it is in your budget. This is an upgraded package option, priced per person. Contact us for the most up-to-date Bar Packages details and rates.
What if it rains on my wedding day?
We are well prepared for rainy weather! We have a pretty stellar rain plan! In case of rain for your ceremony, our Pole Barn is where you exchange your “I Do’s”. The Pole Barn is a covered structure with three sides, with one open side that still allows for plenty of natural light, resulting in beautiful photos. We have clear umbrellas available as well. Our outdoor cocktail area offers a 900 sq ft tent, so we can make the best of your wedding day, rain of shine!
Can I get my wedding photos taken at The Farmstead, without hosting my wedding there?
No, Saturday’s are held exclusively for weddings and special events and closed to the public for any other bookings.
Will there be other weddings or events taking place at The Farmstead, on the same date as my booking?
No, when you reserve The Farmstead for your wedding or event, the property is exclusive to you and your guests.
How late into the evening can my wedding go?
For a 4pm ceremony, we close down the bar and music at 1am. If you opt for an earlier 3pm ceremony, your wedding will conclude at midnight accordingly.
Does The Farmstead provide catering?
We do not provide catering service at The Farmstead but can provide recommendations for excellent local caterers. We provide in-house high-quality dish rentals and flatware for $5 a place setting. This includes set-up, and assisting the catering team with table clearing.
Does The Farmstead provide decorating for my wedding or special event?
Yes! We offer a selection of curated tablescape and decor items available in-house with set-up included! We have a choice of eight colours of table runners: Ivory, Dark Green, Sage Green, Lavender, Terracotta, Dusty Blue, Navy Blue, and Dusty Rose. We also have a selection of stemmed Monet floating candle holders and tea light holders. Also available is high quality ivory cloth napkins. We have a choice of wood or frosted acrylic table numbers and card boxes, as well as a seating chart. You are also more than welcome to bring in other decor rental items or personal items of your preference. We are happy to decorate and set-up any items you bring in. Don’t forget florals to really make your vision come together! We would be happy to provide recommendations for talented local florists! We do include wedding chairs and harvest tables in the venue rental fee. Our Stable Barn includes string lights, a chandelier, and some white backdrop draping. Our tent includes string lighting, pole draping and cocktail tables. Our ceremony areas include an arbour, white wedding chairs, and signing table. We also offer a buffet / sideboard that makes for great dessert, favour or gift table. Please note: All decor items are available to use complimentary, but there is a candle surcharge of $25 per table to cover the cost of high-quality clean burning candles. (Includes 3 floating candles, and ten 8-hour tealights)
Does The Farmstead provide DJ or music service for my wedding or special event?
We highly recommend hiring live musicians for your ceremony! We would love to provide you with some recommended vendors who can provide this service. Our preferred guitarist provides prelude and ceremony music starting at $400. We can also provide recommendations for local piano and cello duos.
If you would prefer recorded music, The Farmstead’s complimentary event management and venue co-ordinating provides the direction of the rehearsal and ceremony, which includes initiating your songs of choice (at the perfect time!) for the wedding party processional, the bride’s entrance, signing song and the recessional song. We will have a few practice runs of this at the rehearsal as well. You may either hire a DJ for your cocktail hour and wedding reception, or for smaller events or wedding couples that would prefer to DIY the music for their reception or event, we provide a professional JBL speaker with mic that can be connected to your music playlist via Bluetooth, USB, etc.
Can we have a band play for our wedding?
Certainly, live music is always a great vibe! However, there are a few things to keep in mind to ensure a flawless and elevated event, including band breaks and planning for inclement weather. Depending on the space requirements of your band, it may be required to rent an additional tent to cover your band in case of rain. And if your band does not provide execution of background recorded music for breaks, it may be required to have a DJ or a music playlist initiated through the venue. We also want to ensure the band is committed to a timeline and set-up prior to the wedding start time. Through the wedding planning process we will go into all the specifics and further details, to ensure together a realistic and solid plan that works for your chosen band, all while providing an elevated guest experience!
Can I invite children to my wedding or event at The Farmstead?
Absolutely! (But, it’s ok to have a child-free event too!) If you choose to have a child-friendly wedding, The Farmstead is well equipped and a wonderful environment for supervised children. Your young guests will not run out of activities to keep them entertained… from digging in the sandbox, visiting the chickens, exploring all the nooks and crannies of the farm, to plucking a fresh berry or veggie from the gardens. Adequate supervision is required at all times. The property has a small creek in the springtime that runs through the field, as well as a wooden and rope swing used for wedding couple photos, that can be dangerous if used unsupervised or in a wild way. We have 3 highchairs available for your dinner. Please request in advance.
When will i have access to the venue?
For Saturday weddings or events, our Blissful Beginnings Full Weekend Package includes venue access for any vendors or clients beginning Friday at noon for any item drop off or set-up purposes. Rehearsal takes place Friday afternoon or evening. Sunday all personal items or extra decor will be packed up for you by our team and ready for pick-up prior to noon.
Can I book The Farmstead for a bridal or baby shower?
Yes! We offer a Sunday package for bridal or baby showers, celebrations of life, or other daytime special event.
How can I go about booking my wedding or special event at The Farmstead?
Simple! E-mail us at francine@thefarmstead.ca to book a tour. We will get back to you within 24 hours (usually much sooner!) We look forward to meeting you and know you will fall in love with The Farmstead for your wedding day! We will work with you to make your day calm, comfortable, memorable and exactly how you envision it. To reserve the date for your wedding, a non-refundable deposit of $3000 will be required.
